Recaro launches its next-generation R4 premium seat

Recaro Aircraft Seating has officially introduced the R4, its next-generation premium aircraft seat. The new model serves as the direct successor to the company's existing PL3530 premium seat. According to the manufacturer, the R4 incorporates new premium features alongside improvements to passenger comfort and overall ergonomics.

Replacing the established PL3530 baseline means integration teams will need to evaluate the R4's new premium features for potential impacts on seat weight and power draw. Engineers should also anticipate reviewing updated dynamic testing data to ensure the modified ergonomic structures meet current structural certification requirements.
