Meet BlueFirst
JetBlue has introduced BlueFirst, a new domestic first-class product designed for select non-Mint flights. The upgraded cabin offering focuses on providing passengers with increased comfort and additional room to stretch out. Furthermore, the seats will feature the latest in-flight entertainment (IFE) displays. A notable addition to the passenger experience is the integration of a seatback ordering system.
Integrating the latest IFE displays alongside a seatback ordering system will require careful attention to power distribution and data network routing within the seat assembly. For cabin engineers, the challenge lies in balancing the increased pitch and enhanced comfort features against the inevitable weight penalties of larger seat structures. Certification efforts will likely focus on head impact criteria (HIC) given the new display hardware and modified seatback profiles.
