Fewer seats, more luxury: step into the new British Airways A380 interiors
British Airways recently revealed the designs for its upcoming A380 cabin retrofits. The updated interior features refreshed cabins and new seating across every class. Notably, the aircraft's layout is undergoing a major reconfiguration. Under the new arrangement, 75 percent of the total seats will be dedicated to premium options.
Shifting an A380 to a 75-percent premium configuration will drastically alter the aircraft's center of gravity and floor loading profiles, requiring extensive structural substantiation. Sourcing and integrating this volume of complex premium seating will also place significant pressure on the supply chain to meet retrofit schedules.
